Family sitters

This is our last week with family babysitters. Our sitter has been overseas visiting her family for several weeks and we've been blessed with our family's support while she has been gone.   My parents and Ryan's grandparents have been splitting the duty and they each drive up and babysit two days a week.  Colin has been doing really well with them... but I think he tires them out!  The only issue Colin has is he won't take a bottle with them... he will only take a bottle from our babysitter. I think he's eaten maybe... 8 ounces in 2 weeks from the bottle.... and with the babysitter he does 8 ounces in a day.  Sigh.  Needless to say I have a lot of pumped milk in my freezer from her absence!  Talk about a stash!


This next .week is the 4th of July week (my bday week).  We are going to Durango, only like 3 hours from here... who would have thought it was soo close!  Lol  We will be spending 2 nights in Durango and 2 nights in a cabin on a lake. So excited!  I can't wait to spend 4 days with my little family. It will be a much needed break away from work. :)

Well I wanted to touch base on my lack of blogging... it is mostly because we have family here everyday and we are all preoccupied!  But I will update when I can!

Hard to believe...  Here I was the week I had Colin... and here I am now!  So surreal! 40+ lbs different!

Fathers Day

 Colin is a very lucky boy to have a loving and wonderful daddy.  He also has some wonderful Grandpas and Great-Grandpas! He is so blessed to have so many father figures in his life who care about and love him.

Crawling video

Not the best video... but here he is crawling like a big boy! Today I've only seen him army crawl once! He is just doing too much too fast this little boy!

And we have a tooth!

Can you see it? On the bottom... there is a tooth... and it is popping out... and I think the other bottom one isn't far behind!

My independent boy

Colin's little personality is huge already. He likes doing things on his own and on his own terms. Fun stuff, I tell ya.

This weekend not only did we have to lower his crib already, but he decided he didn't want to eat from a spoon anymore and that he just wanted to feed himself. At 7 months old. Aye!

He learned to pull himself up in the crib last week. Now he pulls himself up immediately after being laid down. The second you lay him down he rolls, gets on all fours and pulls himself up. I must have laid him back down 100 times last night. It is really putting a damper on the whole fall asleep on your own in your crib thing we've been trying. I've resorted to putting him in there asleep the past couple days.

He is also going to be a climber. Last night he pulled himself up on the couch and was walking along the couch trying to get my laptop. When he got below it he tried picking up his leg to get on the couch by himself!! OMG!

The spoon thing took me by surprise. Colins been eating like a rock star since we started food. Then this weekend he's like, ummm no spoon for me, I'm big enough to feed myself! Which is fine, I just didn't expect it. So today I am going to the store in search of foods for him, Baby Led Weaning style. I hope they have some soft fruits! I made some carrots for him Saturday, but I don't think I made them soft enough, so he wasn't very impressed, but he ate a banana yesterday and then turkey, bread and avocado from sandwich at lunch yesterday. His fine motor skills aren't the best, but he can grab the food, where he messes up is that he passes the food from one hand to another... that is where he drops it! But about half the time he gets it in his mouth!

What I worry about is when other  people watch him. He still doesn't take a bottle well. So last week my mom gave him milk from a spoon... now that he doesn't want the spoon... what do I do?  I am going to look for a baby cup that has a straw... I *think* he might drink from a straw. Lol  Aye, This kid! At least he knows what he wants!! lol

7 months!

Colin is 7 months old. I swear this 6-7 month time frame he has done so much more developmentally than he has in the past 7 months!

He can now sit independently.

Crawl not only army crawl (which he prefers because it is faster) but on all fours.

He is also pulling himself up on everything.

Sleeping is still sucky and the crib isn't any better.

He loves all food and eats everything he has tried.

And I don't have enough time to think of anything else! Lol

Phone Dump!

Homemade baby food. I am really enjoying making it. We've done sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, bananas, peaches mangoes and that is all i can think of right now! lol

Some of our freinds invited us to go out on their boat this weekend at the nearby lake. We were excited for Colin to go out on his first boat ride.  We made sure he had a life vest, plenty of sunscreen and a hat and we headed off to the lake! :)
