Eating veggies...

As I eat a bit of chocolate I am going to blog about getting my kid to eat vegetables! Ha!

When I made Colin his puréed food he ate any vegetable I put in front of him, but inevitably things change. One day Colin would eat carrots and then the next day he would spit them out like they were the grossest things on earth. It is easy, especially if you are like me and don't like eating a ton of veggies yourself to stray from veggies from your kids diet, but you can't! Eating a balanced diet is so very important for our kiddos.

So how can you make sure your kids keep eating healthy? Keep trying those veggies. If there is something they like then keep using it in different ways and in different meals. Experiment experiment experiment. Make things they hated 2 days ago a different way and see if they like it today!

For example. Colin used to love spinach. He helped me eat my salads all the time. Then one day he decided he didn't like them anymore. A few weeks ago I made a healthy spinach dip. (Spinach, cottage cheese and water chestnuts) Colin absolutely loves it! So I made it again this week and we eat it everyday for lunch with his meal. He used to love zucchini and we ate it for dinner every few days. I tried it again the other day... He hated it! Lol but I will try it again next week. He sometimes loves broccoli and sometimes hates it. He absolutely loves green beans and we eat them often.

Any way I guess what I am saying here is, keep experimenting and don't stop giving your kids healthy food. They need healthy food and physical activity to live a happy healthy lifestyle.
